Chandrahas - We reviewed your application for all funding opportunities when we reviewed you for admission to the program and you were not awarded funding or an assistantship for your Master’s program. Financial Aid is given to domestic students as it is government aid. If you did not receives a funding offer in your admission offer you did not receive aid from UB.

MPS vs MS in Data Science: Through the MPS program we can offer a multidisciplinary curriculum where students take classes offered across multiple schools on campus (college of arts and sciences, school of public health and health professions, school of engineering and applied sciences, and the school of pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences). In other degrees (such as MS Engineering Science with a focus in Data Science) the curriculum is limited to the school offering that degree (in the engineering science MS, students must take 24 out of 30 credits within the school of engineering and applied sciences). As such, a multidisciplinary degree allows students from broader backgrounds to enter the program, whereas an MS engineering science is more geared toward students from engineering backgrounds.
