Hi good morning !!
It looks like people are still logging in, joining us, so we're just going to wait a few minutes. Um. In the meantime, I'm Keeley Perry. I'm the graduate coordinator and I work with the PS Vita science application programs, as well as the engineering science and other multidisciplinary program so that the school engineering.
Hello everyone and welcome. My name is Rachel Hagmann Blair. I am a faculty in the Institute for computing and data science is also a associate professor in Biostatistics and I am directing the program.

hi
The two of us will be your main points of contact throughout your entire time of studies, so you're definitely welcome to reach out to us between now and when you enroll in classes. Star mother. That's this fall or next fall on any admissions questions or questions about your application. You're I-20. Things like that. Please continue to talk to graduate admissions, grad and shipbuffalo.edu, but anything as it relates to the program, the curriculum registering for classes.

The earlier recorded webinars are not of good quality
Um were definitely who you're going to be reaching out to, so please email us anytime. Our information will be at the end of this presentation as well as on the website. So if you ever got the program page, there's a lot of FA QS on there. There is information about advising, registration, general overview, the programming course descriptions, really great resource, but I'm always happy to answer your questions about anything posted published on the website as well.
I think their students will, or perspective students. Uhm, I think you guys are going to be trickling for the next one to two minutes. So I think, uh, we can just go ahead and get started. The presentation will be available. I'm recording after the presentation so you will have access to it. Hopefully you have no problems hearing us or anything that we say if we go too fast will do a Q&A at the end.
So please come put your questions in the chat box is we go we will try to answer some of them as we see them come in but will go through all the questions at the I didn't go over anything that we messed up. So with that I will let Rachel begin with an overview about program.
OK, I just wanna check Kaylee, make sure I have slide control before I start.
Yes, yes, I just click it.
OK, perfect OK. It's kind of small on my end, but I'll do my best here. So again welcome. We're really excited to have so many people here in this meeting greet, especially given the circumstances. And like most programs, the University here we're trying to be, I guess very fluid in how.
Doing things these days. So first of all my.
My name is doctor Rachel Hagmann Blair. Just to give you a little bit of information about myself. I've been a faculty with the IC DS since they started and I've been. I teach a couple of the courses in the program. I my main appointment is in the school of public health and health professions in the Department of Biostatistics. I am a data scientist in the sense that I came from a very different background and mathematics went into biology and genetics and now I'm.
And Biostatistics, so I've been a little bit everywhere.
Jennifer Gammell
09:04:27 AM
Khushal - i apologize the recordings have not been of good quality. We hope to continue running webinars to answer all of your questions.
Anne, I've interacting the program since it began, which was only one year ago. I have a couple of other very important people on this slide.
Doctor was Pittman. He is director of the Institute for computational data Sciences, which I'll tell you a little bit about in a few moments. Excuse me, he is in the engineering school and he's overseas. Everything that goes on in the Institute, including the educational programs.

Hello, on the MPS DS program page said that it could be completed within 4 semesters, whereas the mail that I received states that its a 3 semester program. Could you please clarify the same
Miss Kelly Perry. She is awesome and she has been coordinating this program and she coordinates many other programs but she has given so much attention to the students meeting with them all the time, helping them create their schedules. So I just want to kind of give you an impression were very iaccessible through emails through having zoom conversations etc. And Kaylie is really an expert in scheduling and it's kind of the logistics of the program.
Kaeleigh Peri
09:05:37 AM
Hi Raybhan, we will go over that exact schedule in how you can complete it in either 1 year or 1.5 years!
Social help you make your schedule and help you plan your internship requirements and so forth. So that's those are your major points of contact. Let me tell you a little bit about the IC DS.
Amit Munavalli Munavalli

your audio and video is not stable Rachael.
So this is a little schematic that describes what the IC DS is, so it's an Institute, and Suni, you be has become soon is kind of flagship University for data Sciences, and it's very unique place because it brings together many different schools in the University. So this is a little bit of a bubble which describes you know what who participates. So this is, you know.

The last two classes - Major Applications and Project can either both be taken in the summer, both in the fall (1.5 years), or split up those credits and take one in the summer and the last course in the 4th, fall semester!
There are five teams and their schools participating, and actually these are the schools for which you will be taking courses from these different schools. So you have the school of engineering and Applied Sciences School of Management, College of Arts and Sciences, the School of public health and health professions, which is my own in the school of Pharmacy in Pharmaceutical Sciences. So these are the major players and their located across our three campuses. Actually we have three campuses. These are on the.
Two major campuses, but you know you will be taking courses in all of these different programs that they kind of collection of course is from these different places.
And so this is the major participants and then here.

what kind of jobs we can apply, post MPS.
We have some programs, so underneath that umbrella which captures all of these different schools, we have two educational programs are program which is the MPs program and there's another program that you will you may already be familiar with. It's the Ms program in data science. OK, so there is a little bit of crossover. I'm going to talk about that. That's one of the common questions we get.

Get asked and In addition to the two educational programs, we have a Center for Computational Resources which allows you to do a lot of major computing up. Sorry, that's this side CR and we also have a PhD program, so collectively there are two Masters programs, a PhD program in a major computing center, so it's very powerful resource for students in our objective, which.

Thanks Kaeleigh.
You are familiar with because you're here. We want to train you an Analytics standard, methods of data mining, machine learning, an give you expertise to tackle these large, heterogeneous data sets that are constantly becoming more complex.
So in this program, you're going to learn a lot of skills. These are just some of them, data management, manipulation of data, databases, computing big data, cloud based methodologies, and the list goes on and on and on. So it's a very rich and well thought out program.

How much is the strength for MPS DS
These are some of our faces. Only some of us, and in fact this is outdated. If you go to the website, you'll see I couldn't fit all the pictures on one slide, but you'll see a ton ton of faculty from all around the University who are very excited to be participating in this interdisciplinary effort. And so you'll see, here's my picture. Here's my friend always. Also Biostatistics, we have some computer scientists engineers, so these are individuals that are coming again from all of these different places, and some of them you will see as teaching your courses some of.

You might find a research experience with some of these different faculty. We also organize an annual event called CDC days, which is a week long workshop program. Seminars and Ted talks and things like this. So you'll see many of these faces around campus.
Woosung Lee
09:09:53 AM
How many students will start the MPS program and DS?
So I want to kind of come full circle. I talked a little bit about the different educational programs here. I'm not going to talk about CDC today, that's the PhD program, but I want to give you lation of the two programs.

Sai Preetham- going through this now!
Data science and applications program. Over here and then you have the data science program, so this is a common question and Kaylie and I spent a good amount of time putting together an awesome FA Q Page. And so if you go to the website Kaylee, maybe you can share the link in the chat. If you go to there, you will get a much more in depth, probably well organized description of some of these differences and so forth. So we spent a lot of time putting that together.

So you will actually have some classes with these Ms data science students, so I want you to be familiar with them. You're going to be sharing a study space with them. I'll go into that after I'm done with this slide here, but let's start over here on your side. So this program was designed.
Shreya Sinha
09:11:24 AM
Do people who didnt have computer as a major have to do extra courses ?
With the idea of training students from different backgrounds and this has been our major goal, so the kind of students we see. His program varies tremendously. We have had students coming in from more quantitative backgrounds like mathematics, physics, statistics. Certainly, that is true. We've had some engineering students, computer scientists it, but we've also had.
Students come from management education.
Kaeleigh Peri
09:11:34 AM
Shreya- no!
La so really, students that don't do not necessarily have.
Perhaps the formal training, but have the drive and interest for learning data science skills an acquiring formal training, and then oftentimes bringing these skills to bear on problems in their own domain, and so that's really what this program is capturing. And my second bullet point here are more focused on the application of data science. OK, so by design, because you're going to be taking a very balanced.
Curriculum which Kelly will describe in a few minutes.
There's going to be a couple, of course, is taken from each one of these five schools, so it's very balanced. The course requirements are very interdisciplinary. OK, so you have a kind of like a melting pot of different programs that are coming in students with different backgrounds and training, and we are trying to.
Capture all of the different heterogeneity and and kind of leverage it to have this successful program that spindle these different schools. This is fundamentally different. Yes, it is data science. OK, this is also data science as you know this is engineering focused. OK so this.
Rahman Mhate
09:13:13 AM
Do job recruiters view MS as a better degree than MPS?
This program has been around a little bit longer. It was our first program to come out of IC DS and this is geared toward students with very strong quantitative backgrounds for example, from engineering.
Ankush Lakkanna Lakkanna
09:13:14 AM
Can people switch programs between ESDS and DSA?
From mathematics, but if we do kind of look back.
Look at the demographics for these different students. A good majority of them have engineering training and from that point of view, the.
Kaeleigh Peri
09:13:43 AM
Ankush- no, you must apply and be accepted into the ESDS program
Program the majority of the course is if you look at the course. Of course listings are engineering courses. OK, so they teach a lot of there's there is some crossover OK, but with the exception of my courses actually this this program and the Engineering Data Sciences is all engineering courses.
Ankush Lakkanna Lakkanna
09:13:57 AM
Thanks!
Really, that's the correct statement, right? Yes, OK still correct. OK, wondering there's no degree changes or anything, so the This is the major difference. OK, so yes, they're learning data science very focused in engineering and PS is more applied. The students with a strong quantitative backgrounds. Those courses may go into theory a little bit deeper. OK, they may really try to prove some theorems and get into more details about the methods that they're studying.
More theoretical detail, whereas the data science and applications course will focus at least an conceptually. The goal is to focus more on applications, so where you know, for example, I may derive principle components. We may go into a long derivation and how to find them and so forth, whereas in the data science program I'm going to teach you about what they are, where they come from, but we won't go into the long.
Method of deriving them using the power rule. Instead, we're going to focus on taking that information and now applying it to real data and trying to understand how it fits into the scheme of things with respect to practice and implementation. So those are the major differences in. Again, please visit the FA Q Page where we go into a little bit more detail, but this is often a question that we get asked. There is some crossover.
Karunesh Jagdish Vaity
09:15:30 AM
Do we need to know python?
There are a couple of shared pro courses and they have the same end, so at the end of the program, which this is a false spring program. So in the summer.
Students have to take an internship OK with a company can be a paid internship. Doesn't have to be.
And or they can do faculty research or we have.
Kaeleigh Peri
09:16:10 AM
Karunesh- you will learn python in your first semester, EAS 503. If you are not experienced with python yet we would encourage you to check out some free online resources introducing you to python
Started to create some other alternatives here, so the ending is very much the same. They also share the course major applications which brings in individuals from different industries that use data science and exposes them accordingly. So this is a really nice survey course about the use of data science across different industries, so they share that course and they also share my courses in data mining.
Outside of that, they are very independent. The other place where they crossover is very cool actually. So you be has.
A space that is dedicated to the data science program. A space where students can come. They can sit together. They can work on homework assignments, they can talk, they can study.
Karunesh Jagdish Vaity
09:17:08 AM
Okay thanks. What about R programming do we need to know that?
And they have white boards in their. Flexible seating is very really nice. Well thought out room and space. The other thing that we share in that space are the teaching assistants. The teaching assistants have fixed office hours every single week and you can go there and work on your homework. You can go and talk about, you know different problems or ideas and they are there to serve both programs. So you also share that interesting and unique resource which is very.
Shiva keerthan Jalla
09:17:25 AM
Do job recruiters view MS as a better degree than MPS?
I haven't seen this any other program actually across the University in my time here, so this is a very cool resource that students like to see.
Charan Teja Eddala
09:17:32 AM
What are all the programming languages dealt with in MPS? R/Python/SAS? If you could give the figures of statistics and programming weightage in perc, it would help a lot.
Robert O'Keeffe
09:17:35 AM
Do you expect these spaces to be available in the fall semester?
Now, of course, because you've applied and you're, you know strongly considering coming. I probably don't need to sell you on the fact that data science is really important.
This is information from 2019. I think that in 2020 it will be even more relevant, especially given you know the state of the world right now where it's just crazy to be hearing about all of these statistical models and things on.
The mainstream media, so I think of all of the things that are happening in the marketplace. I think data science is one of the things that is not going to go away. I think this is a skill that is going to become more important an we've read some things to that affect as well. So this is just some information about data science. I took this from glass door and gives you some idea of the growth that was happening last year.

Does tution fee vary if i complete course in 1year other then 1.5year
Kaeleigh Peri
09:18:36 AM
Neither degree is better than the other; both are ultimately created to help students get into the same types of jobs. The difference really comes in with the background of the students. The MPS was designed to bridge non-stem UG degrees whereas the MS-ESDS is geared for students who have a STEM background already
What I'm going to do is probably at this point I'm going to hand it over to Kaylee, who will tell you a little bit more about the nuts and bolts of the requirements and the course scheduling. So go ahead, Kaylee.
Alright, thank you, um, so the program overview is that this degree is a three credit hour program on most of the world Masters degrees in general, these days are around 30 credit hours, so it's the exact same length as the engineering science program that we were talking about, and I know some students. Some of you have been asking in the chat about the difference in like the program and the difference in terms of.
On how the degrees are viewed, once you graduate and the big thing is, neither degree was created to be a leg up over the other program it was meant so that students who are coming from different backgrounds can both have the same oppurtunity and in the field and data science jobs. So it's an MPs Masters degree because we're going to show you how to apply these skills into these different fields, which you may not have had from your undergraduate backgrounds, especially for non stop.
Whereas the Engineering Science Ms degree was really intended for students who already have a stem background. So it's really the only difference. It's not viewed any differently. It's still a Masters degree, and that's definitely a big take away that I hope you guys will get from this. So with this program again through the credit hours, yeah, you be students who are completing the program full ties, so if you are on an F1 Visa, you are going to be required.
My dogs barking hopefully doesn't cost too much interference.
Very ready to go outside right now, um. So with this program.
Malika Suri
09:20:37 AM
How does course duration vary in case students defer to Spring 2021?
Oh my goodness, he's crazy today. I have a one year old puppy at home, so little bit about me outside the program. Alright, so again, if you're an Apple, decide you're required to maintain full time status as part of your up one visa requirements. So for F1 visa full time is going to be 12 credit hours, so couple of questions I saw in the chats were about completing the program in one year versus 1 1/2 year. So with the three credit hour program, it's really strategically.
We're going to be taking 12 credits your first master 12 credits or second semester and there are 6 credits locked so you have the option to choose between taking those 6 credits both of them in the summer to complete the degree in one year or you could take one course in the summer the other course in the fall we offer both of them in fall and summer so you always have 2 options to take that after you've completed your first year courses or you can take the summer off and take both of them in the fall so those are the different ways that you can complete the degree any their one year or one and a half year.
Eshwar Narayana Setty Kumar
09:21:51 AM
Can we complete the degree in 2 years?
If you are a domestic student or you're not bound by the offline these regulations we do a part time option. That schedule is going to be a little bit. We really customize it on the student. Based on you know what's going on in their life, what fits your schedule each semester? Most students do take two classes this semester. We usually have at least one online course and one evening course running every semester, so this will be great for the working professionals on the right hand of the slide you'll see the core courses.
Atharva Adbe
09:22:16 AM
Can we complete the degree in 2years?
Abhishek Cheekatimarla
09:22:26 AM
Can a stem background student take MPS DSA program
So those are all 10 courses that you are going to take in the program. There is no electives, so all those courses are going to be exactly what you take. If you don't like something, unfortunately, can't just switch it out for something else. The program was strategically created as Rachel side a couple slides back, so since this is a multidisciplinary program, it was actually created with all five schools that we mentioned before public health cause viruses, Sciences, School Engineering School, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences. All of us came together. It's you.
Figure out OK for students that are coming from non stem backgrounds. What are going to be the fundamental skills that they'll need to know to come out and bridge them?
You work into these types of jobs when they come out, so that's why these courses are all core all required and why there sat in the curriculum this way. So since they're all core.
Broken out to be taking in a specific order? Uh, which I've got two in a minute. So for the first 2 semesters you do have to take all the courses that we have outlined for you. We might have a couple sections offer depending on the class. If they are offered at different times you can choose which section you would want to be in for the most part, but that's about this flexible as it gets in terms of students who are doing their program full time I see a couple of questions about deferral and complete the program.
Enable sample schedule coming up. Slow decks that in just a minute.
Rachael Hageman Blair
09:24:09 AM
Karunesh, you do not need to know R programming, you will learn it. Like anything, any head start is useful.
To continue going through over the program, it's a cohort style, so set it is. That's that curriculum not going to be choosing which semester you take which courses, but the benefit to that is, you know you're always guaranteed to see the courses that you need every have to worry about not getting into your schedule because we have seeds reserved for students each semester to make sure that you're getting into what you need. Most of the classes you will all take together, um, so if there.
Rachael Hageman Blair
09:24:26 AM
Charan, Python and R.
Starting in the fall, then you're going to have most of your classes, all 50 view. They went together some, you know. Again, larger classes there might be multiple sections for you, so some of you might be split up, but for the most part you will be going through this program entirely together. So again registration you have to take 12 credits if you're completing the program.
Rachael Hageman Blair
09:25:01 AM
Abhishek, yes, absolutely
And you'll take 12 credits in the file, 12 in the spring, and then you can decide how you want to split up those last 6 credits based on when you want to finish your degree. Uhm, so since by the time summer and fall comes, you know that third and 4th semester you don't really have any credits left to take, but those classes. So students who are interested in doing the program in two years. If you're in an F1 visa that you can, and the reason for that is going to have all of your coursework died, there is going to be.
Raybhan Pawar
09:25:23 AM
What would be the total tution fee for the program?
To extend your program out to another semester to finish it an like this spring of 2022. It just doesn't work with how short the program is in terms of credit hours. I mean, this is the average length at most programs are. So whether you're looking at engineering science data science is going to be the same issue. No industrial engineering. The authority credit program is mechanical engineering. 30 credit program, so just kind of the standard these days. You would have to be really part time, only taking.
Abhishek Cheekatimarla
09:25:46 AM
Thank you
Srikrishna Karnati Karnati
09:25:55 AM
What will be tution fee if i complete my course in 1.5years
About two classes this semester. To finish the program in two years and for most students, particularly again, if you're unless student visa, your visa does not let you be part time, so that's where that comes into play. It's not really our requirements as much as it is the requirements of being in compliance with your visa.
Agraj Kulshrestha Kulshrestha

What is the approach program will take up in case the Corona thing doesn't calm down by the Fall of 2020?
So, uhm, one of the popular questions to that I saw before. Where do your lawn network? So this is the first year that we've offered this program were graduating our first cohort this summer. There split where some of them are graduating in a year, and the other half of them are graduating at the end of the fall semester. So we're not going to have that data for you, yeah, unfortunately. However, again, this program was intended to give you the same time. So job opportunities to students in our other data science programs. We do have two students who.
Are going to be graduating this summer and already have received job offers. Carter graduation. We have assumed that's doing a really great to your training program for Capital One is a software engineer another.
Katie Lengel

At the graduate level tuition is paid by credit hour - please refer to Student Accounts for tuition and fees: http://www.buffalo.edu/studentaccounts/tuition-and-fees/fall.non-resident-full-time.html
For a job at a large local bank, and they're going to be a cyber security defence analyst, so it's really awesome that even before graduation students are able to show their skill set from their first 2 semesters of full time study that allowed them to get these jobs knowing that their graduation is anticipating. We do anticipate again since having similar outcomes to data science, engineering, science, that program has graduated.
Bhavya Desai
09:27:23 AM
What is the class strength of MPS DS program?
Raybhan Pawar
09:27:31 AM
What's the cohort size?
Or graduating soon? Um, they're working for large companies like Dell, Amazon, FedEx, M&T Bank. Roswell Park is local Cancer Institute, highly valued, very large company, value centric. Another lower local company, their data scientist or data analysts or programmers. Data engineers, Software Engineers, Operations, Research scientists, data scientists.
Woosung Lee
09:27:38 AM
I got an F1 visa from the UB IEP program in 2020 spring so I heard that I dont not have to renew my F1 visa. Is that right?
So we're anticipating you'll have the ability to get these exact similar saving types of jobs.
Aneesh Murali
09:27:45 AM
can we get in touch with any of the current grad students?
So our first cohort we had about 25 students in it, um, we're anticipating to be at least double that for the fall.
So there's a lot of interest in the program. It's a really great degree. Uhm, it would be expected to have the same strength on those or other programs within the Institute for computational data science.
Katie Lengel
09:28:08 AM
Woosung - please email gradeng@buffalo.edu
Um, so this is the course schedule.
Rachael Hageman Blair
09:28:19 AM
Agraj, UB, similar to most Universities, UB is working on several different alternative plans to respond to he coronavirus situation. Our University has been online for the Spring, and will be for the summer. We are monitoring the situation actively.
What I put here, um, is I hopefully should show you what it would look like for three or four semesters. So for the first few semesters fallen spraying all those forces. Those are what you're going to take, so if you are coming to campus in the fall, you're doing the program full time. You're going to take them in this order if you plan to be part time, email me and we can go through to make sure that you are OK to be a part time student and go through what that schedule.
Look like it out for the full length. Um, he wanted the program in two years and you're doing it part time, you know will look at which classes did you take in which.
Rachael Hageman Blair
09:28:54 AM
Agraj, you can be assured that the quality of education and programs will be maintained.
But first you can start doing it full time than fall and spring semester. This is exactly what it's going to look like.
Or semester is again where you can decide how which ones you want to take one. So we structured it so that major applications and project items will always be offered in the summer or the fourth boss mustard. You cannot take them in your first semester. Take extra courses there meant to be at the end of the program. The major applications is really like I'm not working force, so it's where different industry professionals will come in each week they'll give an overview of how a data scientist using their industry and then they'll do a case study in the second half of class.

Out of curiosity, why is Cybersecurity in the coursework of DS? Not many course works in DS have Cybersecurity.
Uhm, you know about something that's going on with them up in their company and really applying the skills that you learned from the program. So it's a really great course, and it's meant to show you about the job opportunities are going to be available to you a different ways to look at how you might be using these jobs. Different jobs that might be considering that you hadn't thought of before.

can we get in touch with any of the current grad students? to get a better understanding of the course
Then your project items course is going to be your culminating experience. It through Masters Project. So every degree always has to have a common experience for our program. We only allow students to do some sort of project. Most students are interested in doing a full time internship, so that's the popular option. You could also do a faculty research based project, so I shared the link earlier on with the link to all the faculty within the Institute. Students can do a research project with any faculty member that's on that list.
Uh, so we usually reach out to them in the spring semester to try to get a list of what projects do they have available, how many super they take nine and we'll circulate it to the students, but you are welcome to reach out to them at any point that under your first semester zeichen semester and let them know. Maybe their research in particular is really of interest to you and you're in the programming. You want to know if they have the opportunity to take you on to work on research with them throughout the summer. So for students who have been interested in doing the programming.
You is do your product in the summer semester. Um, especially if you're on an F1 Visa, because then it's going to allow you to do a full time internship with CBT. You which you'll need your employment authorization to do an internship for international students. You can't do full time CPT if it's your last semester of study, so you'll want to keep that in mind if you want to do a full time after 40 hour week internship, you can only do that in the summer semester. So since you would need a course to come back to in the fall.

Based on the info provided I feel like MPS is not great if I want to learn DS deeply?
To finish your degree requirements, that's where major applications, so that's how you can split up the credits. Now. Maybe if you didn't find an internship for the summer or you found it internship, but most of it.

Are ESDS and MPS DS both STEM programs?
Rachael Hageman Blair

Sagar, yes they are.
In like September and October, maybe it's a later internship, not really the summer. You have to register. So with CB team you have to be enrolled in a course. So are CPT approved, courses, project items, so your course in your CPT have to be within the same dates. So if you're doing this summer internship, you have to register for the project course and your start and end at half the in between the summer days all. So if you have an internship that starts the last week of August. Since then go through mid November.

Ok, so a couple of weeks back, I received a mail from Dean Batta regarding a survey from us if we are interested in taking up Fall sem online. In case I wish to join from fall and take up only a couple of courses online, how can I compensate the 12 credit requirement of enrollment?
Charan Teja Eddala
09:32:24 AM
That helps. Thanks Rachael.
Is an under 20 hours a week? That's going to be a fall internship swimming situation. You want to take your major applications course in the summer and only do your internship in the fall. That's OK. Um, you could take the summer off. You can take all the important thing is just to be aware of the CDC guidelines. If you're an international.
Rachael Hageman Blair
09:32:38 AM
Amit, if you wish to discuss your situation specifically, Kaeleigh and I can discuss with you offline.
Make sure that, uhm, if it's a 40 hour week internship, it's in the summer semester. You won't get approved if you're doing more than if your offer letter says that you're going to be working more than 20 hours a week for the final semester. So important things to be cognizant of. So again, one year would be taking both classes in the summer semester. 1 1/2 year would be split. Those off. Take one the number one in the fall or both in the fall.

I have a question about enrolling in the class. So far I already submit the form of the enrolling class. Can I still switch to other section? Like I submit the form for CDA501, in the future if I want to switch section to eas503 because of the time. Will I do that?
I'm just gonna pause to see if there are any other questions about the schedule, since they're going fast, so I might finish a single through them at the end. I did see a question just pop up about major applications. So again, to reiterate that court.

It is really an industry overview so it is going to be talking about data science each week there's a guest lecture coming in it's really more of a seminar course I guess I would say so each week ago speaker comes they talk about data science in their specific sector so they give a big industry overview of what that looks like what are the issues of theory seeing what are the different projects they're working on the second half of the course is the case study so that each week in between classes.

Hi Agraj - the survey sent by Dean Batta was simply to gauge your preliminary thoughts about potential options. Once the University finalizes fall 2020 options, we will communicate those clearly to you!
Khushal Arora
09:34:12 AM
also explain SEAS, the schedule of it.
You're writing paper is kind of just going through the lecture what you learned how early to things that you learn from your core classes a guide applied for pride chords for not working it really is at the end of the program to show you about what are the jobs are going to be able to you post graduation so that's the major applications course.
Agraj Kulshrestha Kulshrestha
09:34:34 AM
OK thanks Lauren
Um so to move on um curricular practical training this is definitely the area that I find him getting most questions on so curricular practical training is something that's completed during the program whereas opete is typically post completion so after you complete your degree is just dumb program so you're going to be eligible for the 2 year scam opete extension after your first year is done graduated working for a year you can apply for the tears time extension so for CPT.
Again curricular has to be integral to your program so we build our program so that are required to either do an internship or research project so you'll need CPT if you're doing off campus employment and then when you're applying for a CBT you have.
CBC approved fast for your program so you know Biostatistics might have an internship course but you can't just register for that course in the second semester because that's not a part of your curriculum.
The only force you can ever register for our project guidance and internship is going to be our CDA 571 course so when you find an internship what will happen is you will send your offer letter to myself and Rachel will be used to make sure it's a viable opportunity and then you can start your application with our international student services office so they're going to make you make sure that your ride suit for course and they're going to review and say OK what's your start and end date are they in between the hours.
And uh the summer schedule so you can't start before it December well actually can suffer it's not my semester begins the ODS list on their website though that say what's the earliest you can start and what's the latest you can add that you can never work past that end date that is posted and usually it's directly aligned with the schedule every semester so for this coming summer students start early as May 17th so before summer classes begin but the summer sessions all end by August 14th so you cannot work past that date.
Karunesh Jagdish Vaity
09:36:46 AM
Do all students get placed?
And so for students who want to hold him oppurtunity they would have an offer letter that says I'm going to be a data scientist intern for local bank I'm going to be you a full time in the summer starting the 17th through August 10th so they'll review that they'll say OK there in this course is a full time opportunity there registered for fall classes there right so for their course over the summer and I can see that this internship is directly related to exactly what the core values and principles are.
Agraj Kulshrestha Kulshrestha
09:37:12 AM
The full time students need to be on campus or we can begin online if via process doesnt gets started in time?
Their program this is approved now say you found internship though and it would be a secretary for a data scientist company the skills that you might be doing opening now scheduling appointments.
But is not really integral or related to our program even though you're working for a data scientist related company that would be approved so that's why we require you to send us your offer letter so we can get through a description of what you're working on if the skills that you find in your internship aren't what is related to the program and you're not doing it's an internship but it's not at all related to.
Trying to start analytics or God with the principles of the program are starting to be a great opportunity.
We don't directly place students we do have resources available to help you find internships but it really is up to the students to find these into jumps on their own so I've done in the past is that students a list of companies that I've taken on students interns throughout the Institute for computational scientists so you know some companies where to look for but we don't directly place students because we want to make sure that you're working for a company in have an internship that stockley related to what you eventually want to do.

whats the scope of full time internships in the current cohort?
I don't want you be great. Experience really makes a good contact side of it, but we want to make sure it's the type of internship that you would want. So if you want to be a software engineering intern, why would we force you to do that? We have a really great career services office on campus that will help you with your resume cover letter. They can do practice interviews. They were really great resource to called handshake where you can search for jobs. They are helping students right now.
Some authors that are out there so they are really great at kind of also like looking up these companies. In case you've never heard of them before, I just feel like you need some information part.
Very far smaller. Uhm, I saw a question about placement statistics. Yes, again you don't have that. You know, it's our first semester. Students haven't started their summer internships yet, so.

09:39:31 AM
How does course duration vary in case students defer to Spring 2021?
Look at that data to share yet um I saw another question about the false Masters on line where can I apply for CBT we will get that information to you as soon as we can they are international services gave a webinar on Friday and that was the question that came up a lot for different programs as soon as we have the details of what is going on with the fall if for some reason students cannot summon campus will outline what that looks like for you for the scope of your program.
John Wiecek
09:39:56 AM
If a student if offered a full time job after the spring semester, does the student still need to do the internship?
On so I can answer that yet but we will send that information to as soon as we find out um do we have a job here for a data science we have a stem job fair every year the falls not stare so we don't have job very specifically for our students but there are college by job theories that occur on campus that would be at the school of engineering also has an stand specific focus job fair so we do those opportunities available for you as well.
If a student is offered a full time job after the spring semester this is students still need to do the internship question they just popped up yes um the project is a requirement of the program so maybe inside the internship you would want to do a research project with the faculty member that's perfectly OK but you can't use a job as your internship it has to be something unique experience so maybe you been working at a company and there's an additional project?
That you could work on for them above and beyond your job description. That's totally related to this field. We can review opportunities like that for sure, but if you are just come up with one of our students that I got offered a job they want to use that for their internship. Likely in that first summer, you're probably not going to be really working in any project that you'll be able to use for the project force. You have a hard time writing. Your paper isn't going through everything that you're working out for them while you're getting up and running, so that's kind of issue number one.
Uh, but issue #2 the IT does need to be unique opportunity. It's only going to also help you for your resume to show all these different skill sets. All these different things that you've worked on, so you would need a second unique opportunity and we can review those options for you if that were to happen. So great question.
So again with CBT you can have full time CDT which final semester of study so if you want that one year full time or that full time for your week internship and have to be in the summer semester so you would write a super 3 credits of 571 and then the fall you would complete your last 3 credits that major applications course but that's how you split it up if you wanted to do those individually now if you're a domestic student Oregon not tide to those iPhone regulations.
Video full time internship in the fall so you find that operation you wanna take the summer off that's completely OK when we talk about full or part time in the summer at those restrictions are specifically to students who are bound by visa regulations so I know that can be confusing sometimes so if you need any clarifications and that reach out to me at any point.
Some more questions about CPT my regularly do get asked how many opportunities are there so there's only one in our program unless for some reason you don't finish your first ebt opportunity So what that means maybe you're doing this summer internship but when you're working there the project you're working on is taking a little bit longer but it is painted and your engine to put supposed to end August 10th but they need you for a couple extra weeks Anne.
They want you now to work into the end of September so with that you could put in a new CPT application with international student services you would have to register for one more credit of project items so you're going to be taking extra credits you need to graduate but you could put in an application the thing this is my project I've done XY Z but I have not finished this and then you need to finish it it's going to be a 6 weeks it would be part time you know I'd be.
Working no more than 20 hours a week but I need this extra time to finish working on this for them that is likely an opportunity that they would be more inclined to approve but if you did a full time CPT internship in the summer you finish you pass you.
You successfully completed in our graded for that 3 crowds of project items you do another opportunity in the fall international student services in the same hold on you already broke your project course that was required for your program why is this second internship required and they're going to want to know what is the point of you taking a second entering jet you shouldn't be taking these internship it's just for the sake of taking them yes a great experience but they want them to be requirement of your program so once you finish that requirement.
It's gonna be a hard uhm reason for them to say why you should be getting a second opportunity it because in their eyes CBT isn't meant to give you the opportunity to find a job, it's just meant to be supplementing your curriculum with relatable work experience. So that's why those regulations can do first direct. So again at the popular question I get asked. So if you do a faculty research project over the summer and you pass it, and then you want to do an internship.
They're still gonna see that you already completed your project why do you need to take this as it really into your program and it might not get approved the really important thing tippy I'm aware of.
So other general questions that uhm I kind of anticipated soon as my ask is it cannot complete the program in 2 years like I would worry been through this yes but only if you're not bound by these requirements like I showed you with that schedule before if you if you look at this there is all through the credits are done either in the summer or by the fall so you can't come back in the fall and be below part time and that additional fiscal masker it just doesn't workout.
Uh because if anything you should have taken those credits in that final semester of study your final semester of study if you rod and on an F one visa is the only time that you can take less than 5 credit hours so we have a final semester reduced course load form that we fill out that says yes I am finishing last in my degree requirements and those certify you local into full time knowing that you only are working on the last year requirements so once you do that you have to graduate and if there's anything else that you need to take.
You only have 306 credits in your balls mastered you don't have anything more than that there's nothing physically possible after you to take to permit another semester in the program.
Again that's why I will be able to finish in 2 years for most students can I take it a little active so as you saw before there's no actives in the program however if you're completing the program in one and a half years you do have room in your schedule an that fourth fall semester to take extra courses so if there's classes that you're interested in and there were both into the program you are more than welcome to take extra classes they won't count towards your degree requirements so yes they'll show up on your transcript.
Put on your actual program audit for degree conferral they will be counted so you would have room to potentially take anywhere from one to 3 extra classes and that is false master if you were interested in.
So that is an option but again they're not going to be counted forger apartment there could potentially be some electives offered in the winter and summer.
Pretty where in other classes classes are ever offered in those terms so there might be classes of interest that you see you can take them it will be counted but it's really going to prove that winter summer be based on her cell.

class size of MPS DSA
Um other classes or questions I'm sorry I got our auditing classes so yes you can audit courses you have to register for the chorus and pay for it but then at the end this master you don't get a grade so it will show up on your transcript but it's going to show as an and the legend and that just needs not graded so that's not going to impact your GPA at all so the benefit of auditing classes would be going to show up you're going to get all the information to it you have access to the full class are you're guaranteed a seat in the class.
Aneesh Murali
09:48:07 AM
what is the size of the current cohort?
I mean we have a unique learning platform which is like one of our CMOS to get like information on the course syllabus handed assignment things like that so will have full access to all of that by the guide you're not getting graded for it so we're students may have unofficially audited a class in the past where they just have kind of gone in and sat in lectures new mirror you'll get access to that material and you're not going to get feedback on your grades it's not the official way to audit a class so I actually having it in your schedule and then just getting an end grade.
You have the full resource without you in charger office hour is things like that.
Course you do have to get instructor approval, so you need to know that get there right approval no later than the 4th week of class. So that's something that's really important with auditing classes, but it's not.
Kaylee Yeah, one more thing with the auditing piece. Some schools in is apolosi will not let you sit in on of course, unless you're formally auditing it so you know. Keep that in mind.
This is something that people have run into in the past.
Khushal Arora
09:49:18 AM
Difference between extra elective and audit?
Yeah, great great comic. Thank you for that. I've definitely sat in on various presentations through different schools, and every Department seems to have a different viewpoint of soons auditing classes. And that's why I'm going over the formal policy because you have to have in structural approval.
Um, and you have to register for it, because if you don't, um, someone else to take your seat in that class, those up and you thought you were OK to audit. If you're not registered, you know you really don't have the ability to access that horse anymore.
I just saw question about the difference between an extra lock haven auditing. Uhm. So the difference is going to be if you take extra locatives it's going to be graded and it's going to count on it's going to show on your transcript.
An audit of course, will show up on your transcript, but it's not grated either way, they're not going to counter Digger Apartments, but it the difference is going to be what's going to be showing on your chin. Live GPA in your transcript versus what's going to show as an end grade or not graded and not in your GPA.

About enrolling the classes. So far I already submit the form of the enrolling class. Can I still switch to other section? Like I submit the form for CDA501, in the future if I want to switch section to EAS503 because of the time. Will I able to do that?
So hopefully that answered your question. Uhm, that is that the last that I have for the presentation. I did try going through an answering as much of the questions as I can see as they popped up up, but if you have any other questions or if there was anything I didn't answer, please put it in the chat now and I would be happy to answer them.
OK so I speak Russian now. Um, about enrolling in classes so people already submitted the form for enrolling classes. Can you switch other sections? Uhm, so there are. I think two or three potentially classes right now where there is more than one section of the course being offered. I know that management database systems there are two different sections that you can choose two different times, and our program and database fundamentals course is definitely offered at two different times.
On so if you filled out a form right now you're in one section. If you wanna switch, you should do it as soon as possible. So if we have a certain number of seats saved in all these sections, so 120 students register for one class. If you fill out your enrollment form, but you want to switch to other section if it's full, you're automatically put in the section with open seats. So that kind of brings up another question about registration. How do I get registered?
So students for our program don't self righteous.
But we do see it saved in all the classes, so there is an electronic registration form that you will fill out. So when you're ready to register and that means you filled out your intent to enroll that you're coming to the program for fall, you submitted your deposit, you have your you be 80 accounts an you finished the full enrollment. So you sign your health form. You have everything set for an international student link with you.
Service check in. Once you log into your hub and you don't see a negative service indicator or a box, it says you've holds you're ready to register. You can email me and say that you want the registration form and then will put in your information, your person number, your you be email address and then for each course it'll show you what options there are, so you'll submit it and as long as those seats are still open, I can put you in those classes. But if there is a section of a course, for example.
On the programming course ES 503, maybe right now you're right. Start for today Thursday afternoon, but you really would prefer to take it Wednesday evenings. And that class still has to eat. Then I can switch. You would just need to email me and he asked to be switched. If you have already been registered to switch your schedule.
Khushal Arora
09:53:02 AM
SEAS schedule in all this?
So it's a question that is potentially yes. It's always going to, um, depend on if the seafair fall. Right now, every section is still open, so I know only handful students have everything set right now where they're able to register for classes. So if you need to swap, you can. If you have holes and you can't send in your health documents because things are shut down where you are or you can't get to the bank to get your financial documents, maybe for.

I want to join the in-person classes. I am not sure which semester I have to choose based on the current situation. As we can defer only once? what can we don in this situation?
On your I-20 people work, that's OK, there's no deadlines for that right now. We just ask is committed as soon as possible. Uhm, we have seats saved for all of our students that are coming. Again, we have more than enough weed in every single class, so if it is August 20th and you're not registered yet, that's fine. We will have a schedule for you, so don't worry about that.
Kaylee in the past we've tried to keep the MPs students together is a group, and I think that that's still true, so you'll be in a classes with your colleagues. You'll see the same familiar faces. That's part of the design. Would try to keep the group into a tight knit group. There was one question about class size.
Well, that could be interpreted in a couple of different ways that the cohort we have this this year is very small because the program had just started. We have about 20 to 25 students in this in this small group, so we've been able to successfully kind of monitor very closely this first group in their progress.
The physical class size of your classes that you're going to be taking through the program will vary quite a bit. Clearly. Can you comment a little bit more about that?
Yeah, so um, there are two classes in particular that in your first semester you will take with the data science students, so that's the programming course ES 503. I then Rachel's course ESI 06. It's a single data mining. So for statistical data mining there is only one section so.
Everyone will be in it together I'm so that's going to be a larger class because you'll be with the engineering science students as well. That one could potentially have you over 100 students and add, but then your math class, your probability course that you'll take that class. We have a separate section in. It's only for the MPI students, so no one else will be in that class, but you. So your math class each semester and defaults numerical analysis, or I'm sorry in the following probability in the spring. It's Americal analysis. You will only ever had.
Aneesh Murali
09:55:50 AM
how will CPT be affected if the first semester is online will i still be eligible for summer internship?
Just your cohort in there, um, so that could be up to 50, but it would be all just simply ask for the fall. Uh, but again, like your data mining Fort Scott will be a larger course in repo boats. Offer it as a hybrid and she was so fast.
Show me, come in on that real quickly. So one question that came up earlier that I didn't want to tackle in text. Somebody say, well, if we're going deeper into data science in the Ms problem, maybe that's for me. I just want to make clear as I was going through the distinctions that they are different there. Different by design. One is not more or less than the other there different. OK, so so the training you get will be excellent and both programs.
OK, so so the MPs, although we don't go into the theory, it is not less. I want you to know that an it's not viewed as is less.
With respect to combining the two programs in my own personal class, it is how I approach that is actually have some differences in the homework assignments. OK, so for example, I may ask the Ms students to prove something with paper and pen and the Ms are the MPs. Students are mostly, you know, getting them on the computer and analyzing data.
It's almost the same in the way that it's completely taught in the same class, but some of the assignments will vary based on the program goals, so that's a very unique situation. It is a large class. It is a hybrid class in the sense that some of the.
Some of the things will be going to lecture OK, whether that's physically or online, depending on what this situation brings up. So you come to lecture, I talk about some methods, and then there's a lab component just like if you were to take a chemistry class, you would have a lab you would be doing experiments in the lab in data science, it's very lab oriented because you need to practice, right? So you will be on the computer with me and we will go through actual analysis of data using.
Are in my class. Are you use Python And some other classes as well? So that's how I manage that.
Thank you, yeah that's really important. You might have some classes that overlap with the engineering science students, but that's because there.
And a lot of times like the programming ES have a three. It's your introductory course into Python And programming, so that's why it's offering the first Masters nigari up towards into the machine learning that you'll take in the spring. Their offering a specific sequence. But the courses you have overlap. Uhm, you know, it's not like you're going to be at a disadvantage because you know in that race necessarily. You know Rachel is a really great job of adjusting her syllabus to tailor her course to be beneficial to both students. And that's very specific to that class.
Yeah, all classes might need to do that. You know your database management systems course. I'm GS 613, you know you're going to be in that program with students from the management information systems major so that one is 2 different sections, but their run exactly the same way, so they just have seats saved for students in each course and then it got it. It's not meant to split up the soon to just meant to give you two different options for the Times, because no matter what the courses in change. So to go back to that question about class size.
It's always going to vary depending on the course. You'll always only be in a course in math with just AM PST dad, so you're never gonna have other majors in that particular course. When you get to the spring semester, you'll take machine learning and that will be a chorus that you will take with computer science students as well as data science and some of the other engineering science programs. And that's a very popular course. Machine learning is used in robotics and artificial intelligence, computer science, data science. That's going to be a bigger course too, and will be with a bunch of different students, but.
Sagar Patil
09:59:50 AM
Is there a chance to switch from ES DS to MPS DS if seats are available?
Really great not working for you.
Uhm, I did see a question about differing to spring. UM, this particular program does not have a spring start, so if you are not able to move forward for this semester, your only option will be to defer until next fall so all students can defer up to one year. So you can't start in spring, unfortunately, but you can start in fall 2021, so the schedule is to get a change. In that sense, I think the question was how the schedule change if I start in spring.
You wouldn't be starting in spring, you be waiting an extra year.
Uh, is there a chance to switch from engineering science to MPs if seats are available so you have to be. You have applied to either of our programs to be an accepted cider program. So right now maybe if you are, your thoughts were initially on PS, but maybe after hearing that you're like you know what I actually think I really needed to the engineering science science program instead you have to apply will be reviewed and if you're accepted that you can switch.
You can't take both programs at once. Uhm, and you really, you really should not like. Do one program and then start the other. Because there are system are overlap.

if due to covid-2019 the course is deferred tehn it'll a deferred for an year?
Yeah, and so the questions came up. Can you switch um again? No, you need to apply and be accepted. Uhm, and then from there you can determine which program you think is truly the butterfat and the program Rachel teaches you know her course she's taught in both degree program, so she's the program doctor for MPs. But she does teach data science, and so if you are not really sure about either program that you want to go until the board technical information on it.

If i want to join inperson classes which intake should i defer to
Jeffrey reach out to Rachel and I decide to go. But I help as well. Uhm, and uh, if that's something that your your insurer, please just reach out to one of us or even doctor hochman. Uhm. Hopefully that's lied about like the differences in the program or even just looking on the website that classes that will be an indicator mean the engineering science program is pretty fixed with its schedule 2 there's only one elected built in, but there is some more computer science options for students. There's a database fundamentals, forest animals query language students would take.

how will CPT be affected if the first semester is online will i still be eligible for summer internship?
Advance machine learning classes. But again, you can always take those extra courses in your final semester, so if you need to be bridged into some of those backgrounds then I pass is a great program and then you can still take these extra course. As you know in that additional semester.
A question, if I wanted to join in person classes we didn't take, should I defer to um, right now? The plan is that we are offering of our courses on campus if that changes will let you know and we can answer that question best if and when that happens. So again, right now we have our forces scheduled for in person seated, but you know, as things are fluid and changing with a quota virus situation, Noble upset over one with what scheduled options are available.
And the sun, you know, the scheduling options. When should you start basing your specific information so emails will go out to everyone if things change and it'll just be something that will have to cross operation. We get to it.

SEAS 360 program
Uh, another question. Um, how will CBT be affected in the first Masters on line? And my so I'll go for a summer internship or waiting to hear that information. Um, were unsure of that.
Anne, OK and I see a question about the CS 360 program on and that is something that our emissions office runs. It's not specifically related to us, so I will let our admissions team answer that in the chat, or you could email grad engine above the Edu and they can talk to you more about the 360 program and what that's looking like for.
That the next academic year.

I'm any questions that I didn't answer.

10:05:24 AM
should i defer to fall 2021 or will there be a spring option if the covid-19 situatuation dosent improve?
So I will let admissions answer that specific question. I know that there are still in the chat right now, um, the deferral policy is an admissions policy. It's not in program specific, so this standard policy with an engineering is. You can defer one time year on, so the kind of good thing about that for our program, since we don't have a spring star, is.
Khushal Arora
10:05:34 AM

10:05:43 AM
Which program MS or MPS is better for having a career in research?
You really only have one time to defer to. I'm so if you defer now just 2021, there should not be really any issue with you preventing you from starting. Uhm, you may have to fill out a new application if it's fine a full year since you were supposed to start then you deferred, you're not starting again, but that's definitely a question for ignition, so if they can't pop in that shot to answer that quick then please email grad edge at buffalo.edu there on this slide in front of you. Its emissions later a question, and they can.
Are bats uhm? I got. I saw another question. Should I defer to fall 2021 or will there be a spring option? There's not a spring option a man. It really has to do with the core sequencing of the structure of the program makes it really difficult for us to offer a spring intake as well, so you will only be able to start either fault 120 or fall 2021.

What are the average total expenses for 1.5 years?
Unfortunately I think all of these answers are going to be coming in the coming months so Please be patient we do just say if you are interested if you think that you might need to defer we until July when we have all these answers for you um so that way you can make the most informed decision if you did deposit your deposit will carry over so you want to pay your part of the guidance guaranteeing you your seat in whichever term you start.

10:08:06 AM
Hi John - as of now classes are set to begin on August 31, 2020
I did see a question right now can I apply for T ara uh we don't have any assistance available for incoming students however you are more than welcome once the semester starts to reach out to faculty that's research is of interest to you to see if they have any opportunities we have a master students be successful in finding research assistantships we just don't have anything available to our Masters students there's a big initiative going on at University at Buffalo are PhD excellence initiatives so a lot of our opportunities for new students goes to thePHD.com.
All students but you know when the files muster rolls around that is also opportunity to see what else is still available for students.
John Darby
10:08:31 AM
Oh, Thank you
Lauren Rothschild
10:08:33 AM
@Sai - please see the response above!
Sometimes the school of engineering UM does have uhm some initiatives that are you know giving students assistant Gibson and they'll email the student list service with those opportunities are and then will always email you those allow us to seek out assistantships on their own as well.

Can we apply for the PhD course after graduating from the MPS program?
I'm so, um, we if you're waiting for a funding offer from US to determine your spot. Unfortunately, don't have anything available. There's a lot of campus employment opportunities available to, and there is a curvature of the first week of classes about the available opportunities, and you can always find information on the website as well. So if you're looking for some action running while you're here just 'cause there might not be guaranteed isn't, it doesn't mean that there is no other campus employment that you can.

For those asking about SEAS 360, we recently held a webinar all about the program. You can watch the recording here: http://engineering.buffalo.edu/home/prospective/webinars/past.html?start=18
And another question, can we apply for a PhD after graduating from the MPs program so both of our Masters degrees in data science for definitely designed for students to go into industry? But that's not to say you can't apply towards a doctorate degree. We do have a small number of students from the engineering science data science program that have gone on to doctor. It said other schools. So it really depends on what your interests are able to schools you're applying to, what program you're applying to. Will students naturally going to industry?
There's nothing necessarily preventing you from going into a doctoral program.

Do we need to have the visa a month before the start date or is there no such rule ?
Yeah, I mean there are other. Uhm, I know schools that do you have PhD programs where they do look for students with these types of backgrounds to flow into? There is ours. She specifically is just a very unique program and how it was created or the intent was to apply these high performance computing, data science numerical math skills.
That's your domain. In your blend both together it said you need research experience, but there are I've. I've looked at other schools online, they have Peach using data science to would take some of these types of credits into. There's an they have specific or sequences of what you would do with that. Students that did the data science program a lot of gone on to pH DS that we don't have a ton of them, but I have seen someone who went on a couple in applied math and computer science. Those are really popular.
So I think that the point of that is there blending all these skill sets, so you're not just continuing one skills that you're blending everything together, um, but most of our students definitely from Engineering Science, and I'm speaking to that program since it's been around for three years longer. Uhm, they've all really been going into industry.

Hi John, I'm not aware of any rule. You can always reach out to intadmin@buffalo.edu if you have any doubts regarding this.
And so as we graduate, our students and we got our placement information. Narcissistic sandalis then pulled out Lee be posting that on line. It's too early to tell yet, but it is really exciting that you know, month before graduation, a couple of our students were got job offers, so that's something that we're really proud of it. I think it speaks to that the intent of this program with spot on successful. That seems like getting these opportunities.
